You do not need a memory card to play Halo 3, it is recommended you have either a hard drive or a memory card to save games, but it is not required. It is however required to have a hard drive to download the new Heroic Map Pack, due to the size it will not fit on a memory card.

∙ 16y agoNo you don't need a hard drive to play Halo 3. You do a lot of things on Halo 3 without one. The only problem is that you need a Hard Drive to do some features on the game like, going to recent maps, viewing films, and sharing data.

∙ 15y agoYou shouldn't. The Xbox 360 Elite normally comes with a 120GB HDD, enough to last you a long time for game saves, gamer profiles, and DLC (and other XBox LIVE content). Of course, if for some reason there is no expandable drive with it, you'll need to purchase a memory card to store data.
