I called the county clerk of where I live and he said yes. It has to have a plate. But a boat trailer or a small utility trailer don't have to have one. That is if you dont take it out of the state.
Depends on your state of residence. In some states it is a one time lifetime plate licensing fee. Depends on the length and axels on the trailer.
plate
Yes. Anything with wheels on the road needs a license plate, even a boat trailer or a flat-bed trailer.
The license plate has number and says The first state. Why it has a number so that the police can find you if you did something bad.
Specific rules vary by state, but in Washington state you have to have a license plate on every trailer no matter what size it is.
Permanent Trailer (PTI)
You put a sign in the license bracket "in transit"
2 plates on tractor 1 plate on trailer
Usually near the electrical panel, or in the utility (washer and dryer) area.
Not as long as you are driving and pulling it only in the state of TN. If you go out of state you will want to get a license plate.
