It depends on whether you have a mount for the microwave that has an open bottom or if there is a cabinet over the stove. If there is only a mount then yes there are special over stove micros that bottoms are heat resistant to the stoves heat. If there is a cabinet then you can use a regular micro. Either way there should be a vent from the compartment that the micro is in or it could over heat. The special micros have a built in vent that can double as the stove vent.
No, but most can be vented upwards or rearwards. The location of the microwave has a lot to do with venting. Ideally, you want to vent odors and moisture outside. Structure and asthetics also have to do with location of the vent.
You will hear noise while the microwave is running, but it won't be too bothersome.
Probably not. Most range hoods vent in the middle. Most microwaves vent on one side of the back behind the controls.
Typically an over range micro is hung on the back wall on a mounting plate, not from the cabinets. Check with the manufacturer on-line to check their installation requirements. If you are converting from a vent top, be sure to check the clearance from the bottom of your new microwave to the range burners to ensure it meets code requirements for safety clearance.
no! you can only use it over your range. if you don't have a range, you need to go buy one. it can be used - in fact it doesn't even need to work. It just needs to be there. We don't know exactly how the microwave knows theres a range there - but it won't work unless it senses one. Perhaps it's the range sensor - located next to the lightbulb. If you remove the range sensor - then you may in fact be able to use your microwave on your counter top. There are many parts supply centers online that can sell you a countertop sensor that will override your range sensor. Either way - good luck!!!
I assume the outlet which is supplied with you gas stove is connected to a 20 amp , 120volt kitchen circuit. Unless the microwave is very large, say 2kilowatts or more, the circuit has ample capacity. I haven't seen many home-use microwaves larger than 1500 watts.
Ventless over-the-range microwave ovens use a ductless design and route steam and odors from the stovetop through a (usually) carbon filtration system before venting back into the room. One that is vented uses a duct that goes up through the attic (or- egad - through multiple stories) if its on an interior wall, or out through something similar to a dryer-vent if its located on an exterior wall.
Unplug the microwave, remove the vent grille on the top, remove the outer cover, figure outthe exact bulb and most grocery stores should carry it, do not touch new bulb with bare skin, oil will shorten bulb life, refer to owners manual if you still have it.
what is the distance required between the stove top and the microwave/fan vent
nobody cares about what u think
There is no vent. However, the microwave contains sensors to produce optimal heating, leading to less overcooked food!
This handsome Sharp Microwave has a front top venting system that extends the whole length of the unit.
