Humans don't always *need* electricity at all. we want it and we use it, but we don't *need* it.
think back hundreds of year, to when electricity was not yet harnessed. They Survived fine. (Shorter lifespans and less advances in tech aside of course)
No because the wind does not blow all the time and when it is not blowing no electricity is generated. Thus to fill in these gaps we need alternate sources of electricity generation.
