Yes, you do have to take injections for Type 1 Diabetics. I am a Type 1 Diabetic. I am only 12. I used to take injections, but now I have the insulin Pump. I only have to take a shot every 2 days. When, I was on the injections, I had to take a shot 4 or more times a day! That was a lot. I hope you learned something form my answer. Thanks!
Type II Diabetes is usually controlled with diet and/or oral medication, although there are some cases that require insulin injections or another injected medication that helps control blood sugar, exenatide (Byetta).
Because their body cannot creat insulin itself
Pills are for Type 2 diabetics. Type 1 diabetics use shots or an insulin pump.
Well, diabetes happens when your pancreas stops working. When you have Type 1 Diabetes (like me), your pancreas makes no insulin at all. Most people take shots or use an insulin pump. Type 1 Diabetes can not go away. This type usually happens in children. Type 2 Diabetes usually happens in adults. Sometimes Type 2 Diabetes can go away. Most people who have Type 2 can lose weight to end their Diabetes. Most people with this usually take pills instead of shots. :) Hope this helps... :P
Type 1 and type 2 are similar in several ways. One way is that they are both types of diabetes and either have a low functioning pancreas or non-working pancreas. The second way both are similar is that they both require taking daily insulin shots.
Diabetes type 2 diet is most likely referring to a special diet for people with Type 2 Diabetes. People with Type 2 Diabetes need to watch their blood sugar levels, this means eating a lot of foods with a low glycemic index.
You do not have two types of diabetes at the same time.
I know there is a procedure available for type 1 diabetes that works for 2-3 years (animal transplant that eventually gets rejected by the human immune system) but does it work with type 2 diabetes?
pathophysiology of diabetes mellitus type 2
Type 1 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a type of diabetes where the individual is not fully dependent on insulin. A type 1 diabetic requires insulin.

Insulin is the hormone that is imbalanced in type 2 diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance results in the production of increased, but ineffective, insulin.
