No. But it is easier with splitters

No.
After buying the Dazzle, you might think now you are ready to record your TV input, but no. First you will need to buy a double- sided AV cable and 3 AV cable splitters, with 1 input plug and 2 outputs. First, you need to plug the input sides of the 3 splitters into the dazzle's input. (For stupid people, its the 3 holes in the dazzle marked red, white and yellow) then, on the other end of the splitters, attach one end of the AV cable you just got to the splitters (each colour of the AV cable for each splitter). Now, you can finally use your dazzle. All you need to do now is connect the AV cable of the system you are going to record (Xbox 360, PS3, DVD Player, etc.) into the last end of each of the 3 splitters, plug in the other end of the newly bought AV cable into your TV, and get the USB cable from the box of the dazzle, plug one end into your dazzle, and the other end into your PC. Now, a window will pop up on our PC screen. Just enter the settings you want, and click "RECORD". After this, your dazzle should be working. After click "STOP" on your PC, The recording will stop, and the recorded video should be saved onto your PC. If you read all these steps, you should know how to get a dazzle to work. For further assistance, just refer to Youtube. That's how I first learned.
no you do not but you do need a program to record it with
In order to record gameplay on an Xbox 360, you need a capture card such as the Pinnacle Dazzle, and multiple TV splitters if your TV doesn't have an RGB in and out. Another possibility is set up a video camera in front of your TV at just the right amount away.
no, but you will be playing on a 5x5 screen with a 0.5 lag time - edcartcart
you need the dazzle dvc 100 to record ps3/xbox360 gameplay. you also will need three splitters (two female one male), your consoles cord with the red white and yellow and last a double ended red white and white cable. A set up like the one described would not work on systems connected with a HDMI cable and would only be for connection to a Standard 480i TV. The 3 splitter set up would actually allow you also record from any RCA input audio/video recording system (DVD, VCR, ETC) and not require a dazzle package
You will need a capture card. eg. dazzle
no
You need a capture card for consoles, like the dazzle: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/ For Pc, you need a screen capture program: http://camstudio.org/
yes
You could do it with a video camera, but that will be rubbish quality. The best way i know how to record gameplay is: buy a Dazzle platinum, some AV cables, a laptop. Connect your PS3 XBOX360 etc...to your tv. There should be a TV out section on the back of your tv, plug your AV cables into here; add the dazzle to the end of these cables. Connect the dazzle to your pc. With the dazzle you should have some software which lets you record. In total that will cost about £60
