you need to battle a trainer with shadow Pokemon, you will be able to "snag" it. it will only have one move and will not be able to level up until you have purified it. it will then learn moves. this is the only way to catch Pokemon in Pokemon colosseum.

There is 3 methods: Gba link cable, Gba wireless adapter and Gba to Gcn cable. With the link cable you can trade with firered, leafgreen, ruby, sapphire and emerald. With the Gba to Gcn cable you can trade with firered, leafgreen, emerald, ruby, sapphire, Pokemon colosseum, Pokemon xd gale of darkness and Pokemon box: ruby and sapphire. In each game in the Pokemon center you can go upstairs and talk to a lady that will lead you to the trade center (remember you need the link cable or wireless adapter for this method and you also need another Gba you can also use GbaSP).
