Not likely. Most timing chains never wear out, and on most engines you do not have to touch the chain to remove the cylinder head.
Hi As for cost, Its a flag time of appx. 12 hours X labor rate plus I payed $252. for the kit & did it myself ( TAKE IT APART FROM THE BOTTOM(oil pan), the head removal way is Just another BIG cost(gasket set, NEW HEAD BOLTS,NEW HEAD BOLTS , ECT...extra 300-400 $$$$$) P.S. IT S NOT TO FUN!!!!!! GOD LUCK!!!!!!!
Yes usaually every 60 to 100000kms.
It will cost you $0.00, due to the fact that a Ford F-150 does not have a timing belt, it has a chain that requires no maintenance.
The 2003 2.5 CRD Jeep Cherokee has a cam belt not a chain
Yes, you could. Is it a good idea? Probably not. If the tensioner is worn so must be the chain.
yes you have to change the pan gasket when doing the timing chain
Removal of the timing chain cover, timing chain, and head are needed
Timing chain cover gasket
you don't need to replace the timing chain until it becomes noisy
There is no recommended change interval for a timing chain. You replace it when it gets noisy or when it starts effecting performance. There is no recommended change interval for a timing chain. You replace it when it gets noisy or when it starts effecting performance.
Would have to change pulleys for sprockets
you replace it take the old one off and replace it with a new one
you must remove the timing chain and head. This will then give you access to the head gasket
How to change a timing chain in a 1998 Oldsmobile delta 88
Because your vehicle is equipped with a timing chain there is no need to replace a timing chain as it will normally last the life of the engine.
Although I am not a certified mechanic....hell or even a mechanic , I would say no unless the timing chain is in the way of the gasket replacement, you should be able to on most motors replace header gaskets without the removal of the timing chain. ( timing chains are usually involved with the cam/rod repair and or replacement and such)
You never need to replace the timing chain if the engin use timing chain(not timing belt).
