Get the proper replacement wires. One end goes on the spark plug and the other goes on the distributor cap. They are connected to the distributor cap in order,so do not place one out of sync.

It usually is on the 'in-between tiimes' of when you exchange spark plugs and spark plug wires...the wisest choice would be are times after every three-times when you change the plugs and wires, then change the distributor...after every three times changed. It is in the very back of the engine. Just follow the spark plug wires from the spark plugs and they will go to the top of the Distributor. That will be the distributor cap that the wires are in.
