Do you need to control the numbers of wild animals?

ANSWER::: Yes the numbers of wild animals need to be controlled,especially in the USA. One example is that in recent decades, deer populations have increased to numbers that are unsupportable by their own wildlife habitat alone.The clearing of forested areas for farm land and timber,the building of homes in the suburbs and rural areas are all reducing their natural habitat,Deer populations however are taking advantage of such encroachments because farm land and homes provide an easily accessable food source of grass,gardens and crops.With plenty of food deer populations will and have soared to uncontrolled numbers in some areas.

All these things combined with the huge reduction and in many areas the complete eradication of the deer populations natural predators by humans, such as wolves,mountain lions,coyotes and bears there is nothing left to naturally control their numbers except at times starvation and/or disease...Deer are living longer than they normally would in a well balanced natural habitat of predator and prey.Without predators the vast majority of fawns easily reach adult hood in far greater numbers than they normally would.The more deer that reach sexual maturity means an increase in overall numbers..Therefor controlled hunting and culling of the deer populations by humans becomes necessary since in many areas of the USA humans are the only predators that the deer have..

The only other two alternatives to controlled hunting/culling are to completely stop all human encroachment whatsoever on the wildlifes remaining habitat or to re-introduce predators such a packs of wolves,mountain lions,black bears and coyotes in sufficient numbers to control the herds in areas where they have been eradicated by humans...

but I dont see that people will stop breeding and spreading across the country building their shopping malls,mini malls,gas stations,fast food joints,muffler shops and dirty bookstores anytime soon.I also do not see people be very accepting of the idea of having increased numbers of large predators roaming around in the woods behind their houses where such predators have not lived for 100 years or more since man killed them all off from the land...so there is no recourse but to control the wildlife populations ourselves...
