White smoke is an indication of a blown head gasket. Stop driving this car immediately. Although the compression is not great, it is not bad enough to warrant an expensive overhaul. If on the other hand you find that the head gasket has indeed blown, then you might want to just go ahead an overhaul the engine as the head will have to be removed anyway. You will need more than just new rings. the head gasket test came negative. The head gasket is fine. whast wrong with it. Is the turbo leaking oil
