The Panasonic SC-BT series (there is no SP-series) are theatre-in-a-box systems with a disc player with built-in amplifier. You don't need a receiver for this. Your Samsung would also have its own amplifier if it has speaker outputs. These two systems wouldn't connect to each other, but you may be able to use the Panasonic's speakers with the Samsung.
Connect the satellite receiver to the surround receiver. You can then use the receiver to switch between this source and the the DVD or Blu-Ray player.

Connect the audio out of the TV to the audio input of the surround receiver with a dual RCA cable. Note that this connection isn't surround. You will need to connect a DVD, Blu-Ray or digital cable box to the surround receiver for true surround sound.
Check in the menu of the av receiver, it should have a setting for surround sound DTS and/or Dolby Pro-Logic. The program has to be made in surround for you to get true surround in your home.

If you want an easy set up, Panasonic SC-HTB520 is a very good choice. It doesnt have the broadest array of connections but it has an overall good sound. If you want a full, complete set, Panasonic SC-BTT370 is a good choice because it comes with so many things. These are just a couple.
If the receiver is just stereo, not surround sound, you will not be able to create a surround sound (front, centre, sub, surround) setup.
