Qualifying for HOYS is the culmination of qualifying throughout the summer. Every horse or pony entered has to qualify from regional competition. Over 120 county and equestrian shows in Great Britain host qualifiers for this huge indoor event. It is difficult to qualify and difficult to win. You can find out more about affiliated showjumping from the site linked below. Good luck if that's where your ambition lies! :)

Any horse may need wormed every 6 to 8 weeks. Depending on where you are housing your pony, what your pony is eating, and his exposure to parasites. Talk to your local vet for the best advice for you, and your pony. A tip: Use different kinds of dewormers, of various strengths, to keep your pony from building a tolerance to it.
You should ride the horse you will learn the most from.
Depending on the age group you are competing in you must perform well in your zone events in the proceeding year to qualify. Under 13s need to be competing b grade or above. 13-15 also b grade. 15-17 a grade and associates championship grade. The do now have a novice events in each age group which I think are a bit easier.
In England the Pony Club was established in 1929.
If you want to have a certificate coursing in major arts, you will need at least one year of basic art in order to qualify. Basically, it can be less than that, you just need to show your competencies at the certification test.
