I believe that its just the timing belts that should be changed every 80,000 miles or so and not the chain. Belts exist in smaller four cylinder engines and in some six cylinder engines as well. Timing chains typically don't break any more often than other metal parts on the inside of your engine.

A call to a dealer will get you more free and correct information.
