You do need to make sure that any chlorine or chloramine is neutralised before adding fish of any kind to it or vice-versa. Yabbies are shellfish/crustacea. I just realised you wrote 'Yabbies' so you must be in OZ. So you can go the best way ie No Chemicals. OK! Your council will not be adding chloramine so all you need to do is let the water stand for a few hours before using it. Chlorine is a gas and will evaporate off particularly if you spray the water into its container.
They are located on the sides of the yabby's body, under their cephalothorax (the large shell part that makes up the most of their body). Yabbies can clamp their gill openings shut so they can survive for a while out of water.
Axolotls and Red Claw Yabbies should not be housed together, as they have very different needs and temperaments. Axolotls are aquatic amphibians that prefer cooler water, while Red Claw Yabbies are crustaceans that may thrive in slightly warmer conditions. Additionally, Yabbies can be aggressive and may see the Axolotl as a potential threat or food source, leading to stress or injury. It's best to keep them in separate tanks to ensure their safety and well-being.
Yabbies, a type of freshwater crayfish, primarily refer to the species Cherax destructor, found in Australia. While Cherax is a diverse genus with several species, the term "yabby" typically encompasses this specific species. Other related species exist within the Cherax genus, but Cherax destructor is the most commonly recognized and referred to as yabbies.
Platypuses do not eat plants. Platypuses are carnivores. They are predators, and feed on small water animals such as aquatic insect larvae, fresh water shrimp, annelid worms, yabbies and crayfish. The only times they eat plants are if they accidentally swallow them while ingesting invertebrates.
You can determine a yabby's sex by examining its pleopods, which are the small appendages on the underside of its abdomen. Male yabbies have long, slender pleopods that are often used for transferring sperm, while female yabbies possess shorter, broader pleopods that are typically used for carrying eggs. Additionally, males may have a more pronounced and robust body structure compared to females. Observing these physical characteristics can help in identifying the sex of a yabby.
putting the person you are caring for out of their misery...a swift push while they are on the stairs may do the trick
We should observe safety measures while caring for animals because it may be for our own good. Animals will treat you based on how you treat them! ;) hope i had helped haha
