No that is the same internet input that is on the PS3 and not an output to provide the internet to other devices. Just how does your PC get the internet. Mine got it from an ethernet cable that ran from my Comcast cable modem to the PC. Some people have wireless for the PC and you can use that same wireless for the PS3. All the ads showing features for the PS3 state Online connectivity requires broadband internet service and network devices such as a DSL or cable modem. Most people who have this also require a router and an ethernet cable or a wireless router to allow connection of more than one device to there internet service. The ethernet cable plugs into the back of the PS3 and goes into a router or a modem and provides a stronger more constant signal for PS3 online connections and is called a wired connection rather than WiFi.

If for instance you have a PC connected to the internet with an ethernet cable at a cable modem you can unplug the ethernet cable to the PC at the modem and Plug in a ethernet cable from the PS3 to the modem and a connection to the internet is possible. If the PC and PS3 are close enough you can just unplug the PC ethernet cable at the PC and move it over to the PS3. The first time you do this you need to go to the PS3 network setting and auto set the network settings. When you are done using the PlayStation 3 you just unplug the ethernet cable for the PS3 from the modem and plug the PC cable back into the modem for the PC to go back online or switch the cable back if it was close enough. Buy another cable they are cheap. You can always plug in the PS3 and unplug whatever was and switch back and forth like you would if you needed to purchase a router. That does work better if you at least have two ethernet cables and only need to switch at the modem between PS3 cable and Computer cable unplugging the device you are not using and then plug in the one you want too.

If you have a computer hooked up to the internet you have an internet connection. Plug the ethernet cable into the back of the PS3 and run the ethernet cable to your cable modem. Unplug your computer and plug in the PS3. If you want to keep both always wired then you need to purchase a router. Then you plug the modem into the router's in spot and both the PS3 and Computer into the router. If you only have dial up for your computer I have no Ideal if a connector is possible.
