There is a number of ways. The most simple way is to repeatedly assure yourself that you will remember your dream upon waking up. You could also start a dream journal, which should be placed close to your bed along with a writing utensil. Right after waking up, right down everything you can recall about dreams you may have had. Nutrients such a B vitamins and potassium could also aid in dream recall. Make yourself a steady sleep schedule in which you fall asleep and wake up at about the same time each day. Your body will accumulate to that and remembering dreams will be easier. Also, be sure to go to bed without being too stressed or worried about anything, as this can impede both sleep and the process of dreaming.

Put these all into action and get dreaming!

Well there are tips to help strengthen the chances of remembering your dreams. Such as stay in bed when you wake up, dont move, keep you eyes closed, stay still, for about 3-5 minutes, then get up. This i know works alot for me, has been proven to work for some people.

Dreams are actually mental representations during a sub-conscious time period. That means that you cannot recall dreams because they were never in your working memory. The only way a dream can be recalled is during the times you dream, but are not in a deep sleep. This is linked to day dreaming. Almost everyone dreams when they sleep at night, but few remember them. Also, dream memories can be manifested if something cues that memory. For example, lets say you dream of a red mustang. Seeing a red mustang the next morning might make you remember the dream. There is nothing you can do to actively remember a dream because you dont necessarily control them. It is possible to remember a dream, however.

Dreams are produced by brain function exactly like waking thoughts, with bio-electrical activity. They are produced by the unconscious mind during sleep, and the active areas of the brain can be observed with brain scans. See attached link below for technical information and further resources.

.... The images seen in dreams reflect the dreamer's own emotions, thoughts, memories and experiences. These emotions appear as symbols and metaphors, resulting in common misunderstanding and superstitions. See the second link attached below for further discussion of the use of symbols in dreams.

Some traditions believe that something like that it has be like reincarnation (migration of the soul). After the REM your soul leaves the from your body and then it strolls around.

Also in some traditions of Islam religion there is something like that opinion:

-If you see bad dreams these are by Devil. And he wants to frighten you and so you scared because of this dream.

-If you see what you liked that day and you see it that day in your dream and this is a normal dream. These are humanistic dreams.

-If you see good and inspirational dreams, these dreams by God and he might be inspirational you and wants you to be careful etc.

If I write them down as soon as I get up, I do. When I first wake up they're fresh, the really funny ones I remember, but most of them I forget.
