Check the packaging or label. If it's made of cotton or wool, a hot iron should be fine. If it's made of synthetic material such as rayon or nylon, a cool iron would be better.
It would cool the iron. Iron is red hot at about 700 C
Yes. Its a good fabric to wear in warmer weather
Hot iron for best results!,steam iron is a great help when fabric has become a little dry.
An iron is hot in order to turn the water you put in it into steam. The steam is the key ingredient here. Basically you're making the fabric hot and damp, and using the weight of the iron to flatten out creases. The steam and warmth helps the fabric fibers to relax whatever shape they've gotten bent into.
place the iron on its side(pointy part of the iron facing upwards)on the iron mat and let it cool
You should wash it under cool water and then put ice.
the molten iron cool to form a solid
Viscose is similar to rayon. Hand wash in cool water. Do not wring it out. To remove excess water, wrap the article in a bath towel, then remove immediately. Hang to dry. May need to be touched up with a warm (NOT HOT) iron.
These brown spots are the bane of people who iron everywhere. You have scorched the fabric by using an iron that is too hot and leaving the iron in place too long.
To cool the item they have just shaped in a very hot oven. This also tempers the metal adding strength and to make it less brittle.
Because they get very hot, they can scorch fabric, burn hands, and create a fire hazard. The electric steam iron has similar disadvantages but can operate at a lower temperature.
based upon what I read here: http://www.sewgirls.com/sewing/Chiffon-Fabric-5714-.htm in order of safety try the following: 1] wet and hang dry 2] cold to warm iron (barely warm) 3] warm iron and a pressing cloth Be careful not to shin the fabric, that means you are staying in one spot to long, or have the iron to hot. It also means you likely have to buy a new garment.
