I use somthing called indian cement which is a way to keep the seal in place and makes less mess.
no gasket sealant needed. Just original gasket is fine.
NO. You should NEVER use any type of sealant on the transmission pan.
Silicone has it's place but a water pump is not it. Shelac or copper coat does a better job. The gasket may swell and seal on it's own, if not, the powder form of stop leak should seal it or do over with different sealant.
There is a weep hole on the underside of the water pump. If it is leaking out of that weep hole, it is defective and needs replacing. If the gasket is leaking which is unlikely if the pump is an OEM pump, you need to just go ahead and replace the pump anyway. If you go to all the trouble and labor to remove the pump in order to replace the gasket it would be foolish to not just go ahead and install a new water pump instead of reinstalling the old one, which may fail at any time.
It's not even worth trying. The pressure in the cylinders during compression will blow away any gasket sealant. The ONLY way is to remove the head, have it resurfaced then put it back together. NO IT WON'T only thing that will help is a new gasket set ( I KNOW DAMET )
The removal and replacement of a water pump on this application is of moderate to difficult skill level. The engine should first be cool. The water hoses attached and serpentine drive belt can then be disconnected/removed. The next step are the removal of the bolts holding the water pump itself. Any remaining gasket material on the block can now be cleaned. The new gasket and or sealant (if applicable) should be applied. The new water pump then gets bolted in, hoses reconnected, and drive belt reinstalled. This would also be a good occasion to flush and fill the cooling system. The actual factory replacement water pump is Hitachi #WUP0009. The AC Delco OEM replacement is #251682.
What engine? You'll have to get a wrench on the belt tensioner and pull the serpentine belt off the water pump pulley. It should be just 6 or 8 bolts that hold it on...undo them and gently pry it away from the block. Some coolant will spill out so you'll have to top the radiator off and bleed the system when you're done. Scrape off any of the remaining gasket from the block, install the new gasket and new pump. Some people use a dab of silicone sealant to make sure it won't leak.
First drain the radiator. Then you'll need to remove the fan and shroud. Then remove the belts, water pump pulley, and hoses. Make note of how the belts run. When removing the water pump, note which length bolts came from which holes so you can get them back on right. Also note the position of any brackets attached to the pump. Be sure to scrape the mating surface on the engine clean, especially old gasket material. Match the new pump up to the old one to make sure they're identical. Apply a thin coat of RTV sealant(Permatex, etc) to the new pump, then mate the gasket to it. Slide a couple bolts into their holes to keep the gasket positioned correctly. Apply sealant to the engine side of the gasket, then carefully mate the pump to the engine and bolt it in. Be sure to also bolt back on any attached brackets. Do not overtighten the bolts as you'll crush the gasket. If you have a torque wrench, the bolts should be tightened to 40in-lbs on the 4.7L V8, or 30in-lbs on the V6 and all other V8's. 23in-lbs if you're unlucky enough to have a 4-cylinder. Reinstall everything else you took off, check the belt tension before replacing the fan and shroud. Fire it up and check for leaks.
I'm assuming you mean you want to know how to change the water pump? Haynes manuals are the best way to get it right for your specific clio but generally on the newish ones you have to take the timing belt off first (so make sure you set it to TDC before you touch the belt) and then remove the water pump. When putting a new pump (of the same pump) back on Renault suggest that you use some special loctite to secure it but i think any gasket type sealant that is suitable for the water pumps should do it. Hope that kinda helps.

By chance, did you use sealant when you put the new gasket on? If not, there is your problem.
Remove the pan and inspect for damage. Straighten or repair pan if possible, if not, purchase a new pan. Also purchase a new gasket and filter. Install new gasket dry. Do not use any sealant on new gasket. You don't want any sealer goo getting into the transmission. A quality gasket and a straight pan installed correctly doesn't require any sealant. Do not over tighten pan bolts. Refill with correct ATF.
