Yes & No
Taisen Deshimaru, Zen Master & the New Orleans Zen Temple said that Belief in Reincarnation is unimportant.
Only Zazen is important.
I don't think that Zen Buddhist spent much time investigating or thinking about Reincarnation.
Most anyone can attend the New Orleans Zen Temple for a limited time or retreat.
there website is www.nozen.org . . .
Tibetan Buddhist are conditioned from birth that we have had a previous life and will reincarnate.
Belief in Reincarnation has good evidence from the University of Virginia & the 40 years work of Dr. Ian Steveson.
Yes, but it is important to distinguish rebirth from reincarnation.
The word "rebirth" refers to the moment-to-moment continuity that we experience throughout our lives. Except that it is difficult to understand, there's nothing controversial about it.
The word "reincarnation" refers to lifetime-to-lifetime continuity that some people believe is possible to experience. This is a controversial topic. There is no necessity for buddhists of any kind to believe in reincarnation.
Actually, the Buddha did not talk about reincarnation. His primary focus was on reducing suffering. Believing or not believing in reincarnation is irrelevant to reducing suffering, so he maintained a noble silence about it.
Many Buddhists do believe in reincarnation, but it is not required. No not all of them do.
I do not know if he was Buddhist, but he did believe in reincarnation. Buddhism is not the sole belief system which supports reincarnation, though.
Zen (A Buddhist sect)
There are quite a few Zen Buddhist monasteries in PA. Below is a link to a list from DharmaWeb.
Zen buddhist
Zen Buddhists meditate in Temples.
Zen is Buddhist sect in the same way that Baptists are a Christian sect.
Buddhists do not believe in hell. Reincarnation is a key part of Buddhist spiritualism, and involves moving up or down to better/worse forms of life each time, depending on how you went previously.
Good question. Zen Buddhism is the meditation school (variety) of Buddhism. Anyone who engages in zazen and the other practices of Zen Buddhism may be considered a Zen Buddhist. This, though, is misleading because, according to The Buddha, there is no such thing as a separate self; an human individual person is really a congeries of qualities. Strictly speaking, therefore, there is no one to be a Zen Buddhist! .
There is no "Zen Buddha" there is "Zen Buddhism". Zen Buddhism is a school of Buddhist thought centered on meditation and the instantaneous awareness of the whole in any situation.
