Aluminum core with plastic side tanks.
Follow the 2 small metal lines from the side of the radiator to the transmission
Yes -you will have severe metal to metal scraping
No you do not need to remove the bumper. You just need to remove the assorted hardware on top of the radiator including the metal rail - no need to disconnect the hood release cable, just lay the metal rail out of the way.
On my 91 it is metal (copper, or an alloy I believe?), although I have never heard of a plastic radiator.
Aluminum core, plastic side tanks.
Usually a radiator is made of metal. Plastic can not take the pressure. A hole can be fixed by welding. A radiator shop can tell you for sure.
cars don't have plastic radiators, if they do the plastic would probably melt, and the compound of metal cools and heats quickly which is useful in cooling water.
If it is a plastic radiator and it is stripped, no, if it is metal yes.
On my 2003 I believe it is under the drivers side dash, right near the break padel. It has a plastic cover over it covering the metal cased breaker.
The fuel filter on a 1986 Dodge Caravan with a 2.6 liter gas engine is located underneath the hood near the upper radiator hose. It's made of metal and has two lines entering it near the top. Be sure the engine is COOL before changing or removing it due to it's location near the engine. The only other place I've seen fuel filters on a caravan is on the chassis underneath the passenger side door, also made of metal. I believe the 1988 Caravan has the fuel filter in a similar location.
dis connect the rubber hose that goes from the radiator to the plastic reservoir. It is connected with a clamp and a pair of pliers will do it. Then, un-srew the bolt that holds the reservoir to the metal frame-work. Replace with new bottle and reverse the procedure Should take ten to 20 minutes. It was easy.
The radiator is located under the hood, directly in front of the engine fan. It is not to be confused with the air conditioning condenser which, if equipped, is directly in front of the radiator between the radiator and the grille. These two parts look very similar, but the radiator will have large rubber hoses (one at the top driver side corner with a metal radiator cap and another at the bottom pass. side corner) connecting it to the engine.
