its is real but... 14kgb means 14karrot gold bonded, which means it is bonded with a nother metal, usually stirling silver but the gold thats on it is real... its like that because pure 14k would just tarnish in a one week period, but 14kgb will last longer even in tough situations, so if u have that lifetime warranty they give you, it could tarnish howmany times u want u will get it fixed. so its real gold but about 20 percent of the necklace is silver :)
