I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Comp G Supercharged, and it reccommends premium gas, but it does fine without it.
Yes
Depends on the model
No, 87 octane is sufficient
Yes. All Unleaded Gasoline Mercedes Benz vehicles require Premium (91 Octane and above) Gasoline. Do not use anything other than Premium Gasoline. Lower grade gasoline can harm the engine.
All 3.3 supercharged FI MFI Xterra's require premium gasoline. --- running on regular or ethanol will probably trigger the Xterra's knock sensor in this engine. Since replacing the knock sensor (code 324 or related) in the Xterra supercharged engine is extremely expensive (figure $650-$750) depending on year and location... --- use premium. The "non aspirated" 3.3 cylinder Xterra can use regular gasoline IMO.... --- personally, I would try to avoid ethanol blends (10%) since the Xterra engines are somewhat sensitive to lower grade fuels.
depends on the car, some require desiel, others can use unleaded. other require the purest gasoline, these would be supercharged cars.
The 3800 engines with the superchargers require premium gas. Higher octane fuel prevents engine from self ignition of oxygen and gas causing engine misfire.
all navigators only require reg fuel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ According to the 2004 Lincoln Navigator Owner Guide : ( the engine is designed to run on " premium " unleaded gasoline , 91 octane or higher )
BMW recommends using Premium Unleaded Gasoline with a minimum octane rating of RON 95 (equivalent to AKI 91 in the US)
the V6 and the GT need regular gas, however the Shelby Gt500 and Gt500 KR require premium fuel (because it is supercharged). As with any car if you put premium fuel into a car that doesn't need it you may get a bit better performance/gas mileage.
Manny high performance automobiles require premium fuel. Most United States domestic family automobiles do not require premium fuel and will run fine on 87 octane fuel.
