Jacob might imprint on someone else (like what happened with Sam and Leah) and leave Bella. Then she might go crying to Edward who doesn't come back. In the end Bella would have no one and learn her lesson about making choices. Then Edward might come back to the rescue because he isn't strong enough to stay away from Bella.
