Depends what Blackberry you have - I think I read that the 7250, Curve and Bold have wireless internet. Blackberry's website provides instructions on how to set it up.
Honestly from what I read there are some negative reviews but not neccesaraly really bad reviews. Just mild concerns. One would be that it does have a small battery
The screen is slightly bigger than 2x2 inches. There are many smart phones out there with larger screens. 2x2 inches is tiny for a smartphone. Check out the Droid from Verizon.

You can't tell if someone has read your text message. But there will be a little 'r' beside the check mark in BBM (Blackberry Messenger) and that will show that it's been read, but only with BBM, not text messages.
