Yes she does!
No Raoul did not die in the book The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. He married Christine. In the stage and movie of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, the phantom lets him go to be with Christine, demands them both to leave the Angel of Hell.
The Phantom does not die. In all versions Meg Giry finds his mask on his throne; in some that is the final scene, in others she also finds his cape; in Webber's movie adaptation it is shown that many years later, when Raoul is old and Christine has died that he still lives. The Phantom does not die in Webber's musical, but he does die in the original book by Gaston Leroux. In the book Erik dies of a broken heart.
In the movie of 2004, Christine is over seventy plus when she dies, the movie does not state if it was a illness or old age or accident but she has her dying request was the Phantom's monkey music box which the aging Raoul buys at the auction to place on her gravesite.
10 years after the fire (in the end of Phantom of the Opera), Christine goes to New York to sing for the phantom. Meg is hurt by the betrayal that she feels for phantom. Intending to shoot herself, shoots Christine instead. This is in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Love Never Dies". It is amazing, I recommend listening to the soundtrack or purchasing the DVD. It will be available May 29th.It never states in any version of Phantom of the Opera that I've seen/read how or WHEN she dies. Assuming you were asking about the 2004 version of Phantom of the Opera, Christine most likely died of old age.
I think the Phantom of the opera is real as in a real ghost who is still alive and can't die.
No one. The 2004 film clearly shows the Phantom had lived even after Christine died at the age of 65. The Phantom probably died later of old age because he was older than Christine. In the original novel he died soon after Christine left with Raoul, and he (the Phantom) died of love, because he loved Christine so much but had to let her go.
The theme of the novel Phantom of the Opera is Beauty and the Beast. Phantom had a beautiful voice both speaking and singing, but outwardly he looked like a dead corpse. His soul was corrupted from all pain he endured for his appearance, been various freak shows for pennies, now living several cellars below an Opera House. Christine was beautiful outwardly and inwardly, she loved him despite his appearance and she had even kissed him to show he was loved. She was willingly marry to him, so he would not be lonely. Raoul although physically handsome, was jeolous of the Phantom, he even asked her, "If he was a handsome man, Christine, would you still love me?" Raoul was a childhood friend to Christine. She did not want Raoul to die under Phantom's cruelty that she was willingly sacrifice herself to stay with the Phantom. She kissed the Phantom. Once kissed, the Phantom realizes in how wrong he was to keep Christine as his prisoner. He could not offer Christine a proper life. He was dying. He sets her and Raoul free.
Yes in Gaston Leroux's Phantom of the Opera, he dies of a broken heart. Christine's kiss was too much for him, he never been kiss before. He decided to set her free, Raoul free, told her she can marry Raoul or anyone if she likes. Andrew Lloyd Webber's Musical Phantom of the Opera-No, the Phantom disappears. Lon Chaney's 1925 Phantom of the Opera, he is killed by the mob. Claude Rain's 1943 Phantom of the Opera, the cave's rocks falls on him. Other movies of the Phantom of the Opera will have their own ending to the Phantom.
Uhm... I suppose you could say... Past the Point of No Return - The Phantom of the Opera (whether or not to be together, the beginning at least) Down Once More - The Phantom of the Opera (whether ir not to kill Raoul, to let then go, for Christine to kiss the Phantom, for Christine to choose a life with the Phantom to save Raoul or to let Raoul die for her freedom) Kiss Me - Sweeney Todd (whether or not to be together) A Weekend in the Country - A Little Night Music (to got o the country or not) Hope this helps!
