In my experience, yes, it does! I was on it when I was a teen, it was wonderful! Only one period every 3 months, who wouldn't want that? So later on, I had a baby, then I tried the pill, bad idea! Had the second one at 18, then started back on the depo. Well, if you dont know... after you have a baby, you bleed for a few weeks. Well my bleeding turned into a year! Just spotting everyday, sometimes more, but mostly spotting! So I went into the Dr. and they put me on a medication called premarin, an estrogen pill they give women who are going through menopause. They said it would thicken the lining of my uterus. So the bleeding continued, and continued. Finally when it came time for me to go back to get my next shot, I stopped both. Two weeks later my body was back to normal. NOW, I decided that I'd try it again, the first month was fine... I got it right after my last period ended. So this month my period started, which I thought was strange, I thought it wasnt coming! And here I am 3 weeks later, still spotting. So overall everyone's body is different and will react differently, but with my experience, I'd say try to remember a pill everyday. Because you dont want to be like this.
A woman's body has all the eggs at birth. Ovulation is the process of the eggs ripening. When you're on Depo, ovulation is blocked.

There are many parts of the body that experience negative physiological effects from alcohol abuse. They include major organs, such as the liver and kidneys. Alcohol can also affect the brain in negative ways.
The only thing I have heard about the Depo is that after long usage it can affect your bone density. which every 2-3 years, you should have to go for a bone density scan, as per being on the depo. They do say there is a possibility of the depo becoming less effective after prolonged use, and to look into possibly finding a new form of contraceptive if you feel it isn't working for your as well, or you are noticing negative affects to your body! Hope this helped!
