No they are silver.

In the original 1900 book edition of The Wizard of Oz, the Slippers are Silver. In the beloved 1939 film version, they're Ruby. The color was changed for the film, because those involved in the production felt that the silver gave a washed out effect to Dorothy Gale's appearance. The result was a patriotic look to Dorothy, whose dress was blue and white.
In the movie Dorothy needs to get her broomstick. In the book, she doesn't need to get anything from the witch, just kill her. If it is the Witch of the East. She didn't need to get anything, in the book the Munchkin told her to take the Ruby Slippers from her. In the movie Glinda the witch of the South or North, made her wear the Ruby Slippers.
All you really need to do is to get a blue checkered dress, wear a white shirt underneath, and wear red sparkly slippers. Then, get a picnic basket with a black stuffed dog inside and voila! You look like Dorothy!
Yes, Dorothy Gale wore black shoes in 'The Wizard of Oz'. In the original 1900 book edition, Dorothy wore dark, much used, practical leather walking shoes. In the beloved 1939 film version, she wore dark shoes twice. She wore dark, practical walking shoes in the Kansas sequences. And she wore black bedroom slippers when she and the Scarecrow ended up in a fight with the fighting apple trees.
The movie gives the iconic image of Dorothy in her blue-and-white gingham dress and sparkling ruby slippers. In the book, however, Dorothy changes clothes several times. Her first outfit isn't described, but she changes into the gingham dress shortly after she lands in Oz, then puts on a green dress in the Emerald City that becomes white when she leaves (because it was never really green. Everyone wore green tinted glasses that made it look green). And her magic shoes are silver. They were changed to red in the movie to look better in Technicolor.
She also wears small blue socks that are bluish-grey, a white button shirt with a blue dress with a sort of checkered pattern over the top that has straps and her dress is the same colour as her socks.
I most certainly do wear slippers. We don't allow shoes in the house, they come off at the door and we change straight into our slippers. It keeps the carpets clean and our feet warm.

I wear UGG boots or slippers
Yes, very effeminate and/or gay male dancers loves to wear pink ballet slippers, even satin ones with ribbons! But for but not as popular as white or black slippers with tights, or flesh colour slippers with footless tights.
The traditional colour of ballet slippers is a solid light pink. However, they are also made and sold in white, black, and tan. Girls typically wear the light pink colored slippers, while boys wear slippers sold in white.
