There is no issue in the constitution as "personal freedom." There are individual rights given in the Bill of Rights and other amendments, but personal freedom is implied. The government doesn't guarantee that the citizens will be happy or free only that they can seek to be happy.

Without trying to go into a lot of boring detail . . . individual citizens of Israel have the personal freedoms that you would expect if you lived in England, France, Canada, or the USA.
Both Athens and Sparta provided similar freedoms for their citizens (adult males). In Athens, females had little freedom, and slaves none. In Sparta, women had similar freedom to the males, and serfs had limited freedom, being bound to their land.
