i KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR FORD 1998 IT HAD SOME THING TO DO WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL
It bolts to the intake manifold near the throttle body.
Did you get the a RECALL notice ? Regarding the cruise control ... Ford put out a RECALL on the cruise control last year... I just had mines done on my 98 Ford Expedition XLT last week.

ford will do it because there is a recall on this item
The IAC is located directly left of the air filter, on top of the throttle body, held down by 2 bolts.
Trouble code P2106 means: Throttle actuator control (TAC) system-forced limited power mode
how do you fix constant reving on a ford transit 2003
Its right near your throttle body.
Electronic Throttle Control Sensor
Is there a big thump when it releases? It sounds like you may have A broken motor mount. I too have this problem on mine and have not been able to address it - I have cleaned the throttle body, lubed the cable from both ends, and have adjusted the striker that holds throttle plate to move it off its resting place, and all to no avail, very irritatinganyone?>There is a recall for this issue of the throttle sticking. You can contact ford at: 1-866-436-7332 (you will need your VIN when you call) or go to your local dealer's website and click on recall info and enter your VIN. You will get info on the recall. This recall does not expire and is a completely free repair for the owner. Your dealer will replace the defunct accelerator cable. I just had mine fixed today. There is also a Powertrain Control Module Re-calibration recall that came out at the same time....
its been recall call ford
The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is mounted on the throttle body
You have an idle air control valve and you also have a throttle position sensor. They are both located and the throttle body.
On all cars it is located on the throttle plate. That is where the air intake and throttle linkage are located.
The idle control valve on a1999 Ford Expedition is on the upper part of the engine by the throttle body and fuel injection.
It's on the throttle body of the Ford Aspire.
On a 94 Ford 7.3, the throttle POS sensor is on the throttle body. It is on the opposite side of the throttle linkage.
There has been a recall on the cruise control at no cost to you. That may be the problem you are having. Call your local ford dealer and let them know you have a Ford E150 and you heard about the recall. Note. you should have received a notice recall card. sometimes cars get sold and addresses change without you notifying the state and that would be a reason you would not have received one this recall was done about 3 years ago. Hope this helps

Code 12 displayed during self test, per Ford, takes you to test TP, for the throttle position sensor. It could be the failure of the throttle position sensor, idle speed or throttle stop adjustments, throttle shaft or linkage, and/or cruie control linkage.
