personal experience
i had a high fever, headaches, joint/muscle pain, swollen throat/glands.
i was taking ibuprofen for 2 days straight, i was taking 2 every 4 hours.
then on the second night the pain in my throat got worse so on my last lot of ibuprofen i took 3 instead of 2 which isn't usually a problem.
but then in the middle of the night i woke up dehydrated, then when i had a glass of water i was dehydrated again 5 minutes later and my throat and mouth felt like cotton. so i had another glass of water and so on... only after my 5th glass did it calm down enough for me to sleep. i waited 12 hours and then started taking paracetamol instead but i was a lot more careful with them, they did not dehydrate me but they are not as effective (pain relief wise) as ibuprofen.
so yes, i do think that ibuprofen does cause dehydration.
