Yes. Most of Japan adores Americans and the US. It's mostly only the elderly people who dislike Americans, but then they also dislike their own younger generation too. Also, despite most people's fasination with America, most of them view America as too dangerous. They are used to watching our violent movies and take it as "This is common" and as a result, think we're crazy. Kind of like how everyone in America thinks Japan is filled with tentical anime loving freaks, when really, a lot of anime lovers, Otaku, or NEETs, are shunned over there.
