Yes for the hair dryer, but the straightener ( if it is a cream or liquid) needs to be in a plastic bag and less than 3 oz. If you put it in checked bags there is no question, but you can carry it also in a carry on if you meet the requirements above.
Yes they do. It will have to go through x-ray etc and maybe subject to a bag search.
its carry on luggage isn't it?!
Yes you can if they are electric. If it is a lotion or similar it must comply with the 3 ounce ule in a sealed ziplock bag.
YES and they look really neat on the x-ray machine to.
depends on the wattage of the hair dryer. most are 1250 to 1600 watts so a 20 amp gfci circuit would be able to carry the load of a standard hair dryer.
Yes. I have carrried one in my carryon and checked luggage for international and national flights.
Sears, The Bay, they should carry washer and dryer combo. Always check with your local flyers for the best deal and location as well. Good luck for the purchase.

Airlines are padding their pockets these days by charging more and more for bags. This can hurt you as a traveler if you are not careful. With that in mind, there are some creative ways to get around baggage fees. Smart travelers know that if you pack smartly and use all of the resources at your disposal, you stand a great chance of avoiding those horrendous fees. Go big with your carry-on Savvy airport veterans know that airlines don’t typically check the size of your carry-on. Though they put convenient bins at check-in to allow for quick measurement, those are not used in any official sense. With that in mind, get the largest carry-on bag that you possibly can. As long as the bag can be carried and it can fit through the security screening portal, it likely won’t draw any questions from the airline. If the case arises that your airplane is too small to host the bag, you will be able to check it at the gate for no cost. Making the most of your personal item If you need a bit more space, you can make your personal item more than just a briefcase. Many people choose a backpack as their personal item, since this gives them room to carry shoes, shirts, or other small items in addition to your electronics. You can absolutely stuff this sort of bag full, reducing the need for a large suitcase to be checked at the gate. What don’t you need? Some things can be cheaply purchased at your destination or they will be provided by the hotel. A smart traveler will call the hotel ahead of time to make sure these items are available. You may not need to pack your own hair dryer, since the hotel will bring you one. The same goes for irons or the most basic toiletries. At most nice hotels, these things will be complimentary for people who forget them. Don’t be afraid to stuff items in your pillow or take that massive carry-on. With rates going up, there is no reason for you to spend hundreds of dollars checking bags if you can help it.
