The majority of Maryland has a humid subtropical climate with humid summers and cool winters, typical of the southeastern United States. Western Maryland has a humid continental climate with warm summers but colder winters because of it's location in the Appalachian mountains. Hot and cold is relative to people depending on where you live but i would say Maryland is more hot than cold to answer your question.
