When selecting a credit card, the best one would not charge over $25 for late payments. Find one that explicitly indicates what charges they have for over-the-limit transactions. It's better to have a card that doesn't allow such transactions, in this way both sides would be clear. It's now possible to find companies that do not charge annual fees, these would be the best.
Cash is nice because you don't spend what you don't have. Credit transactions don't require you to carry cash that can be lost or stolen.
