Mercury is too close to the sun to have a stable atmosphere. It has very litttle atmosphere and is constantly exposed to heat from the sun. If it stored it up it would be melted by now. Earth HAS to store some heat for its ecosystems to survive, but the additional heat produced by excess and ineffeciant human activity is making what helps us survive into something that could kill us.

Heat from the sun reaches you from radiation.
The sun warms the earth. The heat (energy) from the earth then heats the air.
Mercury is 57.9x106km from the sun.
Mercury has virtually no atmosphere due to its proximity to the Sun and its relatively low gravitational attraction force
Mercury is much closer to the sun, but it is also a very small planet, it's too small to sustain an atmosphere. The surface is a near vacuum, similar to being on the moon, so the heat from the sun cannot easily be retained. In contrast, Venus has a very thick carbon dioxide atmosphere, a greenhouse gas. This thick atmosphere is able to hold in the heat that is received from the sun, so the overall temperature at the surface remains very high, higher than mercurys surface temperature.

Mostly the sun. The sun's heat warms the earth. This heat, in the form of infra-red energy rises into the atmosphere where it is trapped by greenhouse gases. This greenhouse effect warms the atmosphere.

The core of the sun is so important to because with out the core will be hot
