Michael Myers didn't kill Laurie Strode in H20, he killed her in Halloween Resurrection.
In Halloween H20, Laurie Strode supposedly kills Michael Myers at the end of the movie by decapitating him with an axe. It is discovered in the next installment (Halloween: Resurrection) that she actually killed an ambulance driver, and that Michael Myers was still alive.

No, in the contracts it says Michael Myers can not die, meaning he can't be killed off. That's why in H20 after Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) cut off his head we find out its a copy cat. In Resurrection the real Michael comes back into play. In H20 Jamie Lee Curtis was hoping to finish the series by killing Michael, cutting off his head, but after she did so she found out that the contract says Michael Myers can't die, he can't be killed off, that is why the copy cat killer comes into play.
