It will become less effective and could potentially be harmful, although highly unlikely. Over time the tablets plus the drug and the excipients they contain deteriorate and could potentially form new molecules. For example Nicorandil is very sensitive to moisture and deteriorates quickly reducing its effectiveness.

If it has been stored 'badly' then it will "go off" quicker.

Paracetamol is fairly stable but check the expiry date! If its past it, buy some more, its cheap.

Don't buy the branded stuff. "Its not as if they put the cheap Carbon atoms in the non-branded and the good ones is the Panadol!"
