Rick Dancer quoted that if someone asked him to go back, to the days he didn't have cancer that he would say NO, thanks to his beloved friend who passed away, Janessa Byers, or Boey Byers. Boey had cancer also. He went to interview her BEFORE he had cancer. They both helped each other, but she helped him more than he helped her. Rick Dancer came to Thurston Middle School on 4-20-11 to speak about cancer and his life before and after it, after the AWESOME middle school did a fundraiser for Angel Hair. Angel hair is a system for children with cancer in Oregon. The school raised $3,000.00 total to buy not 1, but 2 systems! The systems are made from real hair, and then the child gets to say the color and the length and style, and they are the happiest cancer patient alive, well, only until another child gets a wig. :)
