Yes.
Russia has many old castles [Kremlins]
The Winter Palace in St. Petersburg is a well known castle.
An addendum by Aurora Avrorkina:
There isn't many castles of the classic European type in Russia: just one, Vyborg. But there are two unique native traditions of castle-building. The first style is the aforementioned kremlin, typical for Central Russia. A kremlin is a citadel, or an urban castle. It usually lacks a fortified inner keep: a palace takes its place inside the kremlin walls.
The other style is Northern Russian. Fortifications build in this style are usually called fortresses, but it resembles a European castle more than a kremlin. Some of the more well-preserved Northern fortresses are Izborsk, Koporye and Oreshek (a.k.a. Schliesselburg). There are also some kremlins in the Northern style, called kroms or detinets namely the Novgorod Kremlin and the Pskov Krom.
The third style, too young to be a proper tradition, is the Romantic revival castle (or neo-Gothic), in Russia it was used during the same period as in Europe (i.e. the XIX century). The pioneer of this style in Russia was Tsar Paul I, who built two castles: St.Michael's Castle in St. Petersburg and Bip Castle in Leningrad Oblast. Several other famous revival castles in Russia are Meyendorf (Moscow Oblast, a presidential residence), Lastochkino Gnezdo (Republic of Crimea) and Muromtsevo Castle (Vladimir Oblast, abandoned and partially ruined).
The ones that were organized as Mont and Bailey castles usually still do because they began with walls, but there are castles with no walls. I can think of several that I have been to in Germany. Peterhof in Russia built by Peter the Great has no walls, but does have extensive gardens. The Hermitage also in Russia was the winter palace of Catherine the Great has no walls. Linderhof in Germany has no walls. Many castles and palaces we see today are rebuilt and remodeled by various people through the centuries.
