The three main Scottish banks (Bank of Scotland, Royal Bank of Scotland and Clydesdale Bank) have traditionally released their own currency, which is referred to as the "Scottish Pound". It is legal tender in all parts of the United Kingdom, but some retailers in England and Northern Ireland are reluctant to accept it for whatever reason.
