Until a few weeks ago Swift LLC was privately owned by Jerry Moise it is now a public company but I do not think that UPS has any influence on Swift
A bit of correction here:
Swift has, for a very long time, been a publicly traded company - it wasn't "just up to a few weeks ago". Jerry Moyes did, sometimes in the mid-to-late 2000s, attempt to buy back all the shares of Swift Transportation (thus making it a private company, once again), but the shareholders refused.
