Yes, for a stint of 4 years. Walter Franks was the first black male country singer to be signed to the label as an artist. The A&R director Jim Ed Normal and Danny Key were instrumental in bringing Walter Franks to the label. Even though only a single was released the presence of Walter Franks was instrumental in a cross blending of the Urban and Country Music departments.
