This is the second part to the answer-- Yes you can take wellbutrin to help lose weight from Lexapro-- I gain 25lbs on LEX and even more when i stopped take it-- so far after a year and 1/2 i have lost 20 pounds with NO exercise at all, it really helped with my depression too. Only set back you have to take name brand wellbutrin, the other stuff is crap and crazy side effects and the other set back is its expesive as HELL but my insursance covered it an i pay $ 50 each month w/out insurance 303.99. GOOD LUCK dont give up.

Try natural before drugs because you don't know all the side effects of the drugs - not even the drug company knows the full effect of their own drug. My suggestion for depression is St. Johns Wort or SAM-e (if you can afford it). For weight loss, there are plenty of diet pills that work, but there is no true substitute for good diet and exercise. I found that exersise in the morning makes me feel good throughout the day, it is a natural mood lift.

I take Wellbutrin for Bipolar II Disorder along with Abilify. I am currently at 300mg of Wellbutrin and I love it. I am used to getting severely depressed and having bouts of hypo mania. When on this drug, I feel there is a cap to the "low" my body will allow me to go and when I have hypo mania, I don't go as "high". What I like about this drug, is the fact that my sexual drive isn't impeded on and since I'm a smoker, my cravings are almost completely gone. It is also helping me with weight loss. I'm still allowed to have feelings and don't feel like someone put a cork on the dam of my emotions, I'm me, just a less emotional swinging pendulum version.

Can Wellbutrin cause sadness and uncontrollable crying?

though this wouldn't exactly be considered an 'answer'. i just wanted to say that oddly enough, i was on the internet looking for a possible reason for my uncontrollable crying fits. i find myself sobbing for hours sometimes and just as i calm down, its starts again. the thing is, it started around the time i started taking wellbutrin. ...Me too. I have found that even a very small dose of wellbutrin can cause me to sob unrelentingly. I am not sure if this is just entirely chemical. I think it is putting me more in touch with my feelings, which have been numbed out for several years. In this way, I'm not sure that these crying episodes are all bad. I am inclined to think that it is bringing to the surface grief that I have suppressed for a long time, which may be the first step to relieving my depression. However, this may be completely off base--It's just a gut feeling. Afterall, depression is often caused by past trauma...
