No files are downloaded from Answers.com without your knowing. Other than 1-Click Answers and our other tools and widgets, the only files downloaded are innocuous cookies, which are commonplace throughout the Web.
Even if a malicious user were to try uploading a virus in an answer, it wouldn't work. The same defenses that are protecting Answers.com's servers help protect your computer as well.

There may be a virus in your computer that got onto your computer from another website, or has been in your computer and has just been detected when you clicked on a WikiAnswers question. WikiAnswers questions do not give or contain viruses, so WikiAnswers, Answers, and ReferenceAnswers websites are out of the question.

BOTS (acclaim) doesn't or will not give your computer viruses. I've played it for many years and have gotten no viruses. So, if you were thinking about downloading it, it won't give you any viruses.
WikiAnswers will not provide information that will aid in the creation of computer viruses or other forms of malware.
WikiAnswers (wiki.answers.com) and Answers (answers.com) do not give viruses, and numerous other sites do not give viruses, either.
