I was looking at the 1999 Ford Escort Owner Guide and it states that there is
a trunk release button on the instrument panel ( circular button with TRUNK
RELEASE lettering around the button ) but unfortunately the owners manual
doesn't show a drawing of where it is exactly
There is no trunk release for a 97 Escort LX. The key or the remote are the only ways to open it. On my 95 lx,its on the lower left drivers seat floor board.
It doesn't have a trunk release. You'll have to use the key.
In the trunk there is a side panel with the fuel pump switch reset button. In my wagon it was on the right side.
The Owner Guide ONLY states that the trunk release control is on the INSTRUMENT PANEL . It shows a round button that has trunk release printed twice around the button . Unfortunately , it doesn't show the exact location on the INSTRUMENT PANEL
in the trunk. look in the acsess door on the lower left hand side of the panel. push -the reset button. call for ?s 757-240-7755
If it is like a ( 1996 ) it is in the trunk , behind the trunk liner on the passenger side ( there is an access plug in the liner to remove )
The 1999 Ford Escort owners manual shows : depending on application , on the right ( passenger ) side of the trunk behind the trunk liner or in the drivers footwell behind the kick panel
You push the button on the top of it down to reset it.
There is no thermostat relay switch on a 1992 escort lx.
Just the trim.
