The door hinges must be welded on. Also the bottom of the door frame must be changed to support the lock (this may also require welding?). Look at a Suburban with barn doors and you will see what I mean.

Chrysler didn't have factory installed remote starts in 1998. Factory installed remote starts came in the 2007 years. It was likely installed at a dealer when the car was bought.
It can be factory installed as an option.
How to change a 2000-2004 Frontier Taillight: It's not so obvious if you have a plastic factory bedliner but there are two attachment screws for each taillight cover on the inside bed wall just in front of the tailgate. If you have a flip-down tailgate extender, they are the same two screws that attach the tailgate extender mounting bracket to the sides of the bed. If you have a plastic factory bedliner the screws are covered up by the bedliner. I found it difficult to pry the bedliner away from the screws, so I used some tin snips to cut flaps in the bedliner that I can bend out of the way to get at the screws. The flaps are barely visible with the flip-down tailgate extender in its stowed position. -Doug Jackson in Austin TX
