A 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis COULD BE equipped with
the rear air suspension
( if it is then there will be a rocker style shut off switch in the trunk ,
any time any of the wheels is off the ground you need to shut off
the air suspension system )
* I believe the switch and label is on the passenger side of the trunk
on the 1996
Replace the shocks, or struts if equipped.
Rear suspension, on the control arm under the car just in front of the diff. This controls the height of the back end.
It has the air ride suspension and you have a leak somewhere in the system. You will have to find and repair the leak.
The air ride suspension relay is above the right cooling fan right in the middle of the hood crossover (above the radiator)
No you can not, at least not with the original or OEM suspension.
The Buick Park Avenue line is known for its smooth ride. The suspension is an air ride, giving a soft floating feel.
Remove the wiper fluid container, it's under there.
yes check it out here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2647295
They usually have a nice ride, better check your tires etc.
Because the 2004 Mercury has an update suspension. It may not have the soft ride of your 1994 but it handles way better. Ride & Handling is always a compromise. Floating ride = poor handling. Great handling = stiff ride. Somewhere in between these two extremes is a good ride and good handling. Your 2004 is a safer car due to the fact that in an emergency situation, it will handle better and has less body roll. This can be a big plus when you need to make an emergency maneuver or when going around curves.
usually under dash left front side
Sounds like you have a leak in the air suspension. Check out if it does or it will burn out the pump. Monroe makes a replacement set up for the " air -Ride". It runs you around a grand to have it replace the OEM design.
