The 4.6 or 5.4 Triton engine has two timing chains.....not belts. Periodic changing isn't necessary like it is with a belt driven timing setup.
No , the serpentine belt is outside of the engine , at the front , and is used to " drive " the accesories . Also , it uses a timing CHAIN instead of a timing belt
is there a recall on the timing belt on a 1999 ford ranger?
On a 1999 Ford Expedition : Both the 4.6 and 5.4 liter V8 engines have ( 1 timing CHAIN to each cylinder head , so there are 2 timing CHAINS at the front of the engine )
It does not have a timing belt it has a chain
It uses a timing chain
timing CHAIN(s)
Timing Belt
Timing CHAIN(s)
That engine doesn't use a timing belt.
The 5.4 L , V8 engine in a Ford Expedition has ( 1 timing CHAIN to each cylinder head , so there are 2 timing CHAINS ) It doesn't have a timing belt
timing belt
A 2003 Ford Expedition has ( 1 ) timing CHAIN to each cylinder head , so there are ( 2 ) timing CHAINS
