Yes, while you are changing, check the distributor gear for wear, common issue.
It's the distributor rotor that you are looking for & it's under the distributor cap. Remove the distributor cap and there you will find the rotor.
I just replaced one on my 1992 astro and it was $120 just for the distributor not including the rotor and cap
The rotor button is inside the distributor cap.
Under the distributor cap.
A "rotor button" is located under the distributor cap (in an older vehicle) prior to the use of "Coil on Plug" or electronic type of ignition systems. As the distributor rotates the rotor (which is attached to the distributor shaft) has only one contact point is directed to the spark plug to be "fired"
under the distributor cap and rotor button
Yes it does it is under the distributor cap.
To change the distributor rotor on a1998 Honda Civic unplug the spark plug wires from the cap. Loosen the screws and remove the cap on the unit. Be sure to properly line the new cap on the distributor and install.
When I tuned up my 99. I changed, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor and ignition coil. To my knowledge that is about all you can do. I would by the cap and rotor from the dealer. I made the mistake of not doing that and had problems with the aftermarket cap and rotor getting corroded.
